Radiotherapy treatment plans are created to deliver a high dose to targets while sparing organs at risk (OAR). These are created on a planning CT scan, which may be taken weeks before the treatment starts. At each treatment, patients are imaged and matched, then the treatment couch is shifted so that the treatment plan is delivered as intended.
