Hands-on course at UCLH sponsored by Toshiba

Dr Petrie de Villiers demonstrates live scanning to delegates.

Toshiba Medical Systems supported a dedicated musculoskeletal workshop at the University College London Hospital’s education centre.  UCLH lead consultant specialising in sports injuries and ultrasound-guided intervention Dr Petrie de Villiers convened the course.

Limited to eight delegates, the workshop was dedicated to hands-on practical scanning and technique of the shoulder, knee and ankle joints.  Aplio XG and Aplio MX systems were used, allowing two groups of four at each station, with maximum scanning time for each joint, enabling Dr de Villiers to give personalised training and observation.

At the close of the course, Dr de Villiers said: “It has been a very enjoyable day with a small group of keen learners, providing the ideal opportunity to teach and share my knowledge.”

One of the delegates commented: “It was the most intense hands-on practical teaching workshop I have ever attended.”
