Siemens Healthineers welcomes Rachel Reeves to Oxford facility to reveal plans for growth

Siemens Healthineers hosted Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves at its magnet technology manufacturing facility in Oxford, where the Government outlined its plans for growth.
On the same day, Siemens Healthineers presented its own plans for manufacturing investment and expansion, including a superconducting magnet manufacturing facility that will pioneer DryCool technology, an innovation that reduces helium usage in MRI scanners from 1,500 litres to less than a single litre. Projected to open in 2026, the 56,000m² facility is expected to host over 1,000 skilled jobs.
Siemens Healthineers Great Britain and Ireland MD Ghada Trotabas stated: “For over 40 years, our Oxford manufacturing site has been designing and manufacturing MRI superconducting magnets. The work we do here and our plans for a £250 million state-of-the-art MRI superconducting magnet manufacturing facility in Bicester underscore our long-term commitment to investing in innovation and supporting the Government’s plans to build a strong, thriving economy.”
