Global fMRI community gathers in Norway for NordicNeuroLab users meeting

Fifty functional MRI (fMRI) practitioners gathered in Bergen, Norway, in June for the first full-day NordicNeuroLab fMRI users meeting. Attendees travelled from across Europe, the Middle East and the USA to engage with leading voices in blood oxygenation-level dependent (BOLD) fMRI.
Morning sessions focused on clinical applications, including best practices and experiences in pre-surgical mapping, while the afternoon agenda broadened to cover advanced visualisation, pupillometry and virtual reality. For the keynote lecture, Dr Natalie Voets from the University of Oxford and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust shared in-depth recommendations and case studies. Dr Voets is first author of a consensus paper from the Organization for Human Brain Mapping on clinical language mapping with fMRI.
With an emphasis on collaboration and community, attendees had the opportunity to network, see hands-on equipment demonstrations and take part in informal discussions. The day concluded with a walking tour of Bergen and dinner at a local restaurant.
NordicNeuroLab said: “We take pride in providing our customers with comprehensive training, scientific support and expert guidance. We recognise the value of connecting users with experienced professionals. This approach supports our users and the broader adoption of fMRI.”
