AXREM welcomes Shurmer as chair

Fujifilm Healthcare UK strategic and government relationship manager Huw Shurmer has taken up the role of AXREM chair, following completion of a year as vice chair. Outgoing chair Jeevan Gunaratnam will support Shurmer for a year as vice chair. Shurmer will lead the executive committee, chairing meetings and representing the association at the National Imaging Board and other external meetings, and will work closely with CEO Sally Edgington on government relations.
The association published its strategic priorities in September 2024 and Shurmer will be instrumental in ensuring AXREM delivers on them. He said: “It’s clear to see how much AXREM has grown and is continuing to, with the aim to become the main voice of the medical imaging industry. I am very proud to have the opportunity to represent all our members and assist the health service in delivering safe, innovative, modern solutions at a time when the service is under a lot of pressure.”
