AI-driven MRI system at Cheltenham General Hospital enhances the user experience

Cheltenham General Hospital’s MRI department has had a new GE HealthCare Signa Voyager 1.5T scanner installed with the latest AI technology AIR Recon DL and AIR coils.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust already had AIR Recon DL 2D installed on the 450w 1.5T system at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and now benefits from being able to use the AI for motion correction and 3D.
The 1.5T Signa Voyager system is said to enable the department to deliver superior diagnostic imaging while increasing productivity and reducing set-up and table times. The department will also benefit from many of the AIR portfolio features including AIR Touch and AIRx, enhancing patient experience and workflow efficiency, making MRI examinations smoother and more efficient.
MRI lead radiographer Karen Long said: “It’s fantastic to have access to the latest AI-driven MRI scanner from GE HealthCare after working with its equipment for years. The superior image quality enhances our ability to provide exceptional diagnostic services, supporting the best possible patient outcomes. Moreover, the new systems have significantly enhanced the radiographer’s experience, allowing them to dedicate more time to patient care rather than operating the scanner.”
