Serac’s Professor Perkins awarded MBE for services to patient care and clinical science

One of the inventors of the Seracam hybrid gamma-optical camera has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the King’s Birthday Honours. Professor Alan Perkins is scientific advisor to Serac Life Sciences, the parent company of molecular imaging businesses Serac Healthcare and Serac Imaging Systems.

This honour reflects Professor Perkins’ contribution throughout his career to advancing clinical research, improving patient outcomes and shaping best practices in nuclear medicine.

Serac Life Sciences chair David Hail said: “This recognition is testament to Alan’s tireless efforts and visionary approach to nuclear medicine, where he is widely respected within medical and scientific communities. His guidance continues to be instrumental in our mission to improve patient care and bring precision medicine to patients through molecular imaging.”

Professor Perkins is an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, emeritus professor of medical physics in radiological sciences at the University of Nottingham School of Medicine and past president of the British Nuclear Medicine Society.
