Suite of software addresses xWave Technologies’ mission to improve referral quality and shrink backlogs

xWave Technologies says it is setting a new benchmark for how clinicians access, interpret and act on imaging guidance. At the heart of its mission is a simple idea: give every clinician and patient the best test, first time. The xWave clinical decision support (CDS) platform is embedded at the point of referral across all specialities, powered by evidence-based pathways and integration with existing workflows. It is helping the NHS and global health systems reduce unnecessary imaging and low value diagnostics tests.
Building on this foundation, xWave has expanded its impact through xWave Refer, a multi-speciality order communications platform for primary care, with CDS embedded directly into the clinician workflow. It supports radiology, pathology, endoscopy, cardiology and echo, physiological sciences and other diag-
nostic services, providing a single, consistent ordering layer across a trust or integrated care system.
The company’s broader product suite aims to further strengthen radiology performance. xWave Vetting streamlines triage and justification, xWave Patient IQ acts as a patient acquisition engine that attracts, qualifies and converts demand into diagnostic bookings, and xWave Insight provides real-time visibility into referral quality and imaging trends, supporting smarter governance, resource planning and value-based care.
xWave believes its recent partnerships with three NHS trusts in Manchester, alongside agreements with Yorkshire Imaging Collaborative and Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System, mark a step forward in modernising access to imaging. The company says this ensures patients are efficiently directed to the most appropriate tests and further cements xWave’s role as a trusted partner in tackling backlogs and improving referral quality across diverse clinical environments.
