Philips Healthcare has installed an Akrus mobile mammography chair in the breast imaging unit at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Trust advanced practitioner radiographer Julie Scudder said: “We looked at other mammo chair/beds currently on the market, but really liked the range of positions that this chair provided.

“It offers our patients more choice and comfort when being positioned for interventional procedures, thereby reducing the risk of patient discomfort and possible fainting.   It is also used for elderly, frail patients who have difficulty standing for their mammograms.”
