Charlotte Beardmore CBE to lead SCoR as next CEO

Charlotte Beardmore CBE is to succeed Richard Evans OBE as chief executive of The Society and College of Radiographers from October 1, 2026. Evans is retiring after 22 years in the role.
Currently executive director of professional policy at the SCoR, Beardmore is a past president of the SoR and past president of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies. She is also an honorary member of The Royal College of Radiologists and was awarded an honorary doctor of science degree in 2024 in recognition of her outstanding services to radiography.
With years of experience as a radiographer, having qualified in both diagnostic and therapeutic radiography at Guy’s Hospital, London, Beardmore has held a wide range of clinical, research, project and senior leadership roles across the NHS and the private sector. She has led the professional policy arm of the SCoR since 2014.
In January 2024, she was honoured with appointment as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the King’s New Year Honours List for services to radiography.
