MRI radiographer Claire Jeffery is recognised for her trail-blazing approach
At UKIO 2026 in Liverpool, senior MRI radiographer Claire Jeffery from Circle Health Group’s Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen was presented with the Skilled Personnel Network Award for Academic Excellence in PgC Clinical Reporting (MRI General Investigations). “To have been presented with the award is such an honour and feels a huge achievement,” she said. “The programme at Canterbury Christ Church University was excellent and my cohort was full of remarkable radiographers, which serves to make this award even more special. Incredible support and belief from my manager, my mentor, family and teammates has made it possible, and I am so very grateful and delighted to have done them all proud.”
The award was presented in the presence of The Society of Radiographers president Katie Thompson, The Society and College of Radiographers chief executive Richard Evans OBE, alongside Claire Jeffery’s managers, clinical services manager imaging Amanda Fairley and national lead for imaging and diagnostics Simon Harvey. Fairley commented: “The team at Albyn are so proud of Claire for the trail she is blazing and her academic award. Claire has a quiet resolve and dedication. She has advocated not just for herself, but for advanced practice within the private sector, which is no easy feat.”
Director of Skilled Personnel Network Fodi Kyriakos added: “Claire should be immensely proud of her achievement and the contribution she is making to the future of MRI reporting.”
