Delegates discovered how Siemens’ relocatable technologies enable a better patient experience

For Siemens Healthineers, UKIO 2026 provided a useful moment to reflect on how imaging services are evolving in response to growing demand, workforce pressures and the need to operate more sustainably. Across the congress, conversations focused on how technology, infrastructure and service design come together in day-to-day practice.
On the company’s stand, this was reflected by a mix of technologies and discussions, supported by on‑stand education. Alongside developments in MRI and CT, there were a few UK firsts. These included the hybrid-powered mobile Somatom go.Up, showcased in a trailer on stand, and the Magnetom Flow.Elite within a hybrid relocatable solution outside. Both offered a practical view of how imaging is beginning to move beyond fixed infrastructure, with a growing emphasis on sustainability, efficiency and better patient experiences.
In molecular imaging, the presence of the Biograph Trinion PETCT platform highlighted how advances in PETCT are evolving alongside the infrastructure needed to support them, particularly as demand for molecular imaging and theragnostics continues to grow.
Radiopharmacy also took centre stage. The team wearing 8X shirts sparked interest, building to the announcement of the UK’s first 8X radiopharmacy in Dunstable, a facility designed to deliver eight times the production capacity of a standard radiopharma facility once operational. “It was a powerful moment for the UK PET community, showcasing how reliable, resilient, nationwide radiotracer supply will support imaging services right across the country,” the company said.
