Bon Secours Hospital in Dublin has installed a Somatom Definition AS CT system with syngo.via to increase flexibility and patient throughput.  Since its installation, Siemens reports that the hospital has enhanced patient services and increased productivity.  Bon Secours has also installed Safire, a new method of raw data based iterative reconstruction that can reduce dose by up to 60 per cent.

Hospital manager Gareth Jones said: “The speed of the Definition AS, combined with excellent image quality and enhanced post processing and presentation of image sets will help improve efficiency and aid diagnosis.”

Located in the diagnostic imaging centre, the CT is being used for a range of imaging procedures including cardiac and oncology work.
