AGFA HealthCare team raises funds for air ambulance charity in hiking challenge

A team from AGFA HealthCare has completed the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Hike4Helis Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising more than £1,600 for the company’s charity of the year.

Iain Eyres, Clair Walker, Rob Harwood, Brad Miles and Mark Hebblethwaite took on the iconic Yorkshire hiking route in support of the cause. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge covers approximately 24 miles, including the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, all within a 12-hour target.

AGFA HealthCare UK’s head office is based in Leeds, as are many of its customers and colleagues. Yorkshire Air Ambulance provides rapid, life-saving emergency care across the region and works alongside NHS services, relying on charitable donations to keep its helicopters flying and its critical care teams responding when they are needed most.

“The challenge provided an opportunity for the team to give something back to the community it is proud to be part of,” said AGFA. “While the miles were long and the climbs demanding, team spirit remained high throughout the day, with everyone encouraging one another to keep going through the heat and challenging conditions.”

Through donations from colleagues, customers, friends and family, the team exceeded its fund-raising expectations and contributed to a £15,000 total raised by all Hike4Helis participants.
