Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust has installed a fourth Acuson S2000 ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare, coinciding with the opening of its new fetal medicine department.

The ultrasound system is being used to help staff tackle complex fetal conditions as part of a drive to improve patient experience through shortened waiting times.  Birmingham Women’s Hospital has established a long-standing relationship with Siemens Healthcare and was the first unit to purchase the Acuson S2000 on its release four years ago.

“As a tertiary centre receiving referrals from across the West Midlands and further afield, it is very important we have excellent quality systems in place, and we are happy to continue our strong relationship with Siemens Healthcare with this installation,” said fetal medicine department matron Veronica Donovan.
