Northwick Park Hospital has purchased a new Philips Ingenuity for general purpose scanning to replace its existing Philips Brilliance CT 64-slice.
Located in the main CT department it is installed on the site where Dr Louis Kreel and Sir Godfrey Hounsfield in 1974 together developed the world’s first body CT scanner with EMI.
CT superintendent radiographer Vicki Miller said: “The main driver for choosing this system was the iterative reconstruction package iDose.
“We have optimised our protocols and managed a significant dose saving to the patient, while maintaining high diagnostic image quality and improved spatial resolution.”
