The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital at Northallerton, part of South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, have upgraded ultrasound equipment with the acquisition of five obstetric ultrasound scanners.
Two Aplio 500 scanners with full 3D and 4D abdominal and trans-vaginal imaging and three Aplio 400 systems were supplied by Toshiba Medical Systems.
Lead sonographer Kendra Exley said: “The new scanners were purchased to provide superior 2D and 3D/4D imaging, plus the introduction of trans-vaginal 3D/4D scanning. We also plan to start a 4D souvenir scanning service.”
