Teaching hospital finds the portability it needs

At Northern General Hospital are senior sonographer David Winstanley, sonographer Sarah Deery, Philips Healthcare applications specialist Sarah Mitchell, ultrasound services manager Michelle Hood, Philips key account manager Andy Bell and account manager, ultrasound, Simon Brickell.
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has acquired five Philips CX50 portable ultrasound scanners and an iU22 premium system for use at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital.
Ultrasound services manager Michelle Hood said: “We selected Philips as we have a predominantly Philips-equipped department and have always found that its ultrasound systems offer excellent image quality, are ergonomically designed and easy-to-use.
“The CX50s fulfilled all these requirements, but also offered the portability that a large teaching hospital needs. The systems will be used throughout radiology, early pregnancy and in the vascular clinic.”
