Toshiba Medical Systems x-ray clinical applications specialist Philip Willcock, UK md Mark Hitchman and account executive Colin Pellow with staff nurses Rochan Manvers and Gigi Besana, consultant vascular surgeon Mr Christopher Backhouse, consultant radiologist Dr Arun Sebastian, lead interventional radiographer Justin Carter and staff nurse Pam Hewitt.

Colchester General Hospital had a series of specifications and a budget to meet when it chose its new hybrid vascular imaging system.

It settled on the Toshiba Infinix VC-i, comprising a ceiling suspended C-arm with 30 x 40cm flat panel detector and a fully integrated Maquet Magnus theatre table with A5 carbon fibre radiography tabletop.  It covers conventional procedures and, when required, vascular surgery as the hospital has introduced a major vascular surgery service for the population of East Suffolk, north east Essex and the Colne Valley.

Lead vascular radiographer Justin Carter said: “We chose the equipment as it met all the required specifications we stipulated, and came within the budgetary figures we set.  It comes with lateral movements as standard and is compatible with the Magnus operating table, which has an interchangeable top, allowing the fitting of a normal operating tabletop should the need arise.”
