Chesterfield Royal ready for whole body scans

Pictured at the handover of a Hologic Discovery W DXA system to the osteoporosis centre at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Derbyshire, are clinical service manager Ken Russon, senior radiographers Victoria Powell and Susan Heath, fragility liaison nurse practitioner Karen Ward and Vertec product specialist Bill Reid.

This is the second Hologic DXA scanner the hospital has acquired, this time replacing a QDR 4500.  The Discovery W was chosen for its whole body capability, as Russon explained: “We chose it to continue the excellent track record of the QDR4500 and to be able to extend our service to whole body scanning in the future.”
