At Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, are cardiorespiratory manager Lynne Taylor, senior chief cardiac physiologist Nina Moran, cardiac physiologist Emma Chetwynd, senior chief cardiac physiologist Sue Greatrix and senior cardiac physiologists Chris Ellis and Andrea Weston.

Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust has chosen another Philips CX50 portable ultrasound system.  Princess Royal Hospital was the first local site to purchase a Philips CX50 machine for its cardiology department.  The trust has now purchased a system for the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and an additional system for the Princess Royal Hospital for its community echo programme.

Cardiorespiratory manager Lynne Taylor said: “We needed a portable machine but with good image quality.  Trials of the Philips equipment at the Princess Royal Hospital were very successful and the image quality was second to none.

“The cardiac physiologists liked the equipment and, having seen the system at Telford, staff at Shrewsbury also wanted one so we acquired a second system.  We particularly like the fact that it is small and mobile, and we are able to take the scanner out to the community for local scanning.”
