With a trauma bag from Terumo UK are staff nurse Le Xu, radiology sister Elaine McKnight and assistant practitioner Jackie Greenhalgh.

Terumo UK’s endovascular division has worked with Salford Royal and Manchester Royal Infirmary, two of the centres in the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Centre Collaborative, to create a method to ensure essential equipment is available for the embolisation treatment of major trauma patients.

A national network of specialist trauma centres has been developed and, as part of the revised regional set-up, interventional radiologists may be required to travel to other hospitals to perform the essential embolisations and/or other procedures for the trauma patients.

Terumo UK developed the trauma bag which is fully stocked with a range of medical devices used to stop bleeding and haemorrhage in trauma patients including embolisation coils, embolisation particles, micro-catheters and guide wires.  This ensures that when the interventional radiology trauma teams travel to different hospital sites they have all the necessary accustomed equipment available to treat their patients.
