Warrington employs syringeless injector

Warrington Hospital in Cheshire reports that its CT Exprès syringless injector from Bracco is quick and simple to use.  CT lead radiographer Karen Green explained: “The CT Exprès takes just a few minutes to set up each morning.  It displays simple instructions to insert and prime the day set for 24-hour use.  It then takes just seconds between patients to change the patient set and replace the bottles of contrast when necessary.

“Since we have been using it we have been able to reduce the volume of contrast we administer to each patient, but still maintain optimum enhancement on the scan, by giving a bolus of saline after each contrast injection.  This is an advantage to both the patient and our budget.”
