Acquisition of Bartec supports UK presence for Mediso Medical Imaging

Mediso Medical Imaging Systems is a supplier of nuclear medicine and hybrid imaging equipment to healthcare and medical research institutions worldwide.

The Budapest-headquartered company has taken the step of having direct subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, Australia and Poland and following this strategy it negotiated to acquire Bartec Technologies in 2022. This acquisition strengthens Mediso’s market position in the UK and Ireland and allows it to focus on building and maintaining partnerships with key collaboration partners in these territories.

Mediso managing director István Bagaméry commented: “The UK has always been considered one of the most important markets for Mediso, both in clinical and preclinical business. We have successfully developed and maintained a significant installed base in close collaboration with Bartec over the past two decades.

“The acquisition of Bartec strengthens our local presence, allowing us to build even closer relationships with our existing and prospective customers and sets a path to establish new synergistic, strategic alliances with our key partners in the region.”

Bartec will remain a supplier of nuclear and molecular imaging products with its experienced operational team in the Mediso group and Bartec customers can continue communications through existing channels.
