A&E clinicians at George Eliot learn ultrasound techniques

Seated in front are Mr R Ragunathan, Dr P Chellamuthu and Mr Aslam R Tabani from George Eliot Hospital.  Behind them are Addenbrooke’s Hospital emergency medicine consultant Dr Richard Kendall, Toshiba Medical Systems ultrasound applications specialist Sally Davey, Mr David Boden and Mr Ahmed Ismail from George Eliot Hospital, Addenbrooke’s emergency medicine consultant Dr Rajeev Maddan, Toshiba ultrasound applications specialist Donna Holdcroft and Addenbrooke’s emergency medicine consultant Dr Rob Major.

George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton has acquired a Toshiba Aplio 300 for a service to be introduced in its A&E department.  Patients attending A&E will, in future, have some of their ultrasound scans undertaken within that department rather than being transferred to the x-ray department

Toshiba supported specialised training of the A&E clinicians by emergency medicine consultants from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.  The consultants are experienced in both the FAST scanning technique and teaching ultrasound.

The hospital chose Toshiba equipment following previous experience of the company’s customer support, and for its bespoke education provision.
