The BIR/IEL Make it Better Award is open for entries.  Now in its fifth year, it is for a group of people who have demonstrated the best improvement in an aspect of service delivery by making it more effective, or through improved patient experience.  This might be an innovative design of a piece of equipment or changes to a patient pathway that have improved patient comfort or made the pathway less invasive, reduced delays or improved the environment for the patient.  The closing date is February 28, 2019.  A team from Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust won last year’s award.  Pictured with professor of radiography and imaging practice research and BIR vice president (education) Maryann Hardy (left) and senior account manager for IEL Phil Neale are imaging department innovation acceleration programme manager Katherine Day and lead advanced reporting radiographer practitioner Victoria Ballard from Royal Sussex County Hospital.
