Balfour Hospital Orkney has acquired a Philips’ Zenition 50 9″ mobile C-arm to replace its BV Endura C-arm. It will provide the hospital with the latest technology, and help to promote more efficient workflow by reducing miscommunication and positioning errors during procedures.
Radiology services manager Mike Beach said: “We have had a Philips mobile intensifier for the last ten years, which provided excellent reliability. It also provided us with excellent image quality and was very user-friendly. Therefore, when deciding to purchase a more modern machine with wi-fi capability, we again selected a Philips system.
“With the opening of our new hospital we had an opportunity to acquire new equipment, and Philips was our first choice. In addition, we have found the support to be first-class throughout the project.”
The Zenition 50 9″ image intensifier has touch controls and navigational aids provided by Unity workflow technology. Time can be saved with one-click examination presets and high speed wireless data handling, while the point and shoot design of the Zenition 50 helps with staff training. In addition, every Zenition system shares a standard Windows platform and is ready to embrace new clinical applications and service and support technologies as they evolve.
