Diagnostic services and healthcare solutions provider InHealth has begun mobile PETCT services at Barts Health NHS Trust in London. A long-standing relationship with the trust facilitated a collaborative approach to ensure the service was tailored to the needs of the trust and its patients.
This is the first mobile PETCT unit to be used at the hospital, so it was important that the teams at Barts and InHealth work together to address logistical issues such as access, engineering, radiation protection and planning permission to ensure the smooth implementation of the service.
Trust head of radiopharmacy and nuclear medicine Dr Neil Hartman said: “We have built a strong, trusted relationship with InHealth, having referred our patients to its London Diagnostic Centres for a number of years. The teamwork in setting up this mobile PETCT service was exceptional; the teams worked tirelessly together for over six months to mobilise the service, and I am confident that our combined values, and commitment to quality and care will be reflected in the service that we can now offer our patients.”
