Berkshire secures Samsung Vision

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has recently made significant enhancements to its orthopaedic x-ray facilities, introducing two state-of-the-art Samsung GC85 Vision systems from MIS Healthcare. These additions mark a significant upgrade in the trust’s radiological infrastructure, bringing cutting-edge technology to its imaging department.
The introduction of the Samsung systems has transformed orthopaedic imaging at the trust. These systems are equipped with advanced features such as super-fast stitching for weight-bearing as well as table studies, automatic exposure control (AEC) overlay, and a live feed camera. The orthopaedic clinicians refer a variety of patients through this dedicated orthopaedic x-ray department via busy fracture, paediatric, trauma, and elective clinics. These technological advancements facilitate the imaging process for complex orthopaedic cases, improving patient outcomes with higher quality x-rays.
The upgrade project spanned several months and involved more than just the installation of new x-ray equipment. The radiology department’s viewing area also received a comprehensive makeover, courtesy of Phoenix Turnkey. This renovation has rejuvenated the workspace, energising the radiography team with a refreshed and modern working environment. An accessible reception window with microphone have been installed so that patients are now able to be welcomed for their imaging more efficiently by the staff.
ED and orthopaedic clinical lead radiographer Marco Bettuzzi shared a few words about the project: “We are ecstatic about these changes and very happy with the equipment and results!
“The new equipment has made a significant contribution to improving staff morale, patient flow and image quality.
“A special thanks to the trust, Samsung and Phoenix for the new orthopaedic x-ray department.”
