Avon Breast Screening Unit in Bristol has installed a Toshiba Aplio XG ultrasound scanner.  The unit currently had a Xario and a further Aplio XV in the breast radiology department at Bristol Royal Infirmary, part of the United Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust.

Dr Monica Lamont, clinical director of the Avon Breast Screening Unit, commented: “After undergoing a comprehensive evaluation process, we have now acquired our third breast ultrasound machine from Toshiba.  We are not only pleased with its performance but, having two machines already, we are impressed by the excellent customer service we have received over the years.”

The Aplio XG is Toshiba’s flagship ultrasound system.  With a host of advanced imaging and productivity features, it is said to offer a solution to satisfy even the most robust imaging requirements.

The system delivered to the Avon Breast Screening Unit includes Toshiba’s panoramic viewing and new Matrix probe, which, with a frequency of up to 18MHz, is described as excellent for breast imaging.
