The British Society of Emergency Radiology (BSER) Annual Conference 2026 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull will bring together radiologists, resident doctors, researchers and allied healthcare professionals from across the UK and beyond for two days of expert-led education, practical learning and networking, showcasing the latest developments in emergency radiology.

Taking place on September 21-22, 2026, the programme will open with the presidential address before exploring some of the speciality’s most important and rapidly evolving areas. Sessions will examine preparedness for mass casualty incidents, focusing on how radiology services can respond effectively during major emergencies through streamlined imaging pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration. Delegates will also gain insights into radiology’s ever expanding role in major trauma, highlighting how timely imaging supports damage control strategies, life-saving interventions and improved patient outcomes. A dedicated session on radiology in practice will offer practical perspectives on clinical decision making, communication and delivering high quality patient care in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

Day one will conclude with a multidisciplinary session on post-operative bariatric surgery complications, bringing together radiology and surgical expertise to explore imaging findings, diagnostic challenges and collaborative management.

Day two will feature focused imaging updates in acute urology, cardiology, neurology and gynaecology, alongside a session on infection mimics, offering practical strategies for avoiding common diagnostic pitfalls. Finally, a look at blunt trauma will highlight the crucial role of imaging in recognising subtle but clinically significant injuries in emergency and pre-hospital care. Delegates will have the opportunity to enjoy Hull’s rich maritime heritage, regenerated waterfront, historic old town and vibrant cultural scene.

Organisers says that the BSER conference showcases one of the society’s greatest strengths: a focused, highly interactive educational experience in an uncrowded environment.
