Burnbank earns award for ‘interoperability’

Collecting their award are representatives from the DoH, NHS Connecting for Health and Burnbank lead software developer for IEP Steven Warren, Burnbank md Peter Young (third and fourth from left) and Connecting for Health’s Erika Denton.
The E-Health Insider awards were held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London last month when Burnbank Systems’ Image Exchange Portal won the Innovation in Healthcare Interoperability Award, one of 11 categories.
The award was judged on the following criteria:
How your work has delivered measurable benefits.
How your work could be replicated elsewhere or scaled up.
How your work demonstrates fresh thinking.
The Image Exchange Portal is a key development by Burnbank Systems for the vital process of medical image sharing. It has been developed to provide a hosted system allowing the transfer of medical images and reports between UK healthcare organisations, supporting clinical networks and emergency and routine transfers via a single connection.
The system has been deployed in 168 hospitals and healthcare providers across England since January 2010.
