Cheerful characters adorn wall graphics

Radiographers Michelle McCusker and Heather Roper, lead radiographer MRI Deborah Garlick, radiographer Janet Lewis and Philips UKI account manager, imaging systems Steve Oliver.

Following the provision of imaging equipment to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital by Philips UKI under a commercial agreement in October 2015, the company has donated wall graphics for the MRI, CT fluoroscopy and three x-ray rooms at the hospital.

The graphics are based on “Hardleey” characters, a concept developed jointly by NTL Limited and Alder Hey Children’s Charity to allay fears and make the clinical areas more appealing for young patients when undergoing imaging procedures.

Superintendent radiographer Hilary Stowbridge said: “We are delighted with the wall decorations and very grateful to Philips for the kind donation of the vinyls, as they have greatly enhanced the environment in the whole department.”
