Cleveland Clinic opens London imaging centre

As a centre of clinical excellence and research, Ohio-based Cleveland Clinic is expanding its global footprint to London. Cleveland Clinic London’s first medical outpatient building in Portland Place will begin accepting patients in autumn and the 185-bed hospital in Grosvenor Place will open in spring 2021.
London will have an institute similar to Cleveland Clinic’s Imaging Institute, which is said to be one of the largest radiological academic centres in the United States. The Imaging Institute will combine physician leadership with state-of-the-art image acquisition equipment, with the aim of being a world leader in radiological services.
Cleveland Clinic London will specialise in cardiology, orthopaedics, digestive disease and neuroscience, as well as offering diagnostic, interventional, MRI and CT imaging to patients, and private in-theatre intra- operative MRI scanning, which will allow detailed scans to be performed during brain surgeries.
The clinic is currently recruiting and a spokesperson says: “We’re constantly working to refine our strategies and develop new pipelines to find the top specialists in their field.”
