A van containing a Philips Essenta DR system, destined for the Isles of Scilly, is craned onto the ferry at Penzance. Members of the CIMS team Wayne Veckranges, Gary Foy and Rod McGraw are pictured with Peninsula Community Health locality manager Clive Acraman and Philips Healthcare projects manager Cath Sellwood.
Residents of the Isles of Scilly will no longer have to visit the mainland for x-rays, as Cornwall and Isles of Scilly PCT has purchased a Philips Essenta DR compact digital radiography system to replace an approximately 25-year old machine that has been out of action since October last year.
Peninsula Community Health locality manager Clive Acraman said: “We went through the procurement procedure and one of the key reasons for selecting the Philips equipment was its small footprint; the room in the community hospital is very small and the Philips system offers us the possibility of providing digital facilities in this environment.”
