Compleo Health expands cardiac MRI services to meet complex needs with St George’s NHS Trust

Over the past year, Compleo Health has expanded its diagnostic imaging services to include specialised cardiac MRI scans, starting with a single site and now extending to multiple locations across the UK. This growth has allowed us to broaden our expertise, including advanced scanning for patients with pacemakers and other MRI-conditional cardiac devices. Our expansion reflects Compleo’s commitment to delivering comprehensive diagnostic solutions that adapt to the diverse needs of our healthcare partners.
Daniel, our regional clinical manager, has led this service expansion, drawing on his extensive experience as a cardiac radiographer. He has been instrumental in ensuring we have high-quality staff at each location, fully prepared to handle the complex requirements of both NHS and private clients.
One of our key collaborations is with St George’s NHS Trust, where we have successfully implemented specialised cardiac MRI services. This partnership requires close coordination with cardiologists, pacing teams, physicists, and radiographers to deliver safe and effective diagnostics. With our adaptable approach, we have expanded to include scans for patients with pacemakers and ICDs, and we are planning to accommodate non-conditional devices in the future. By closely collaborating with healthcare providers, we strive to address their unique challenges and act as a reliable solution for their diagnostic needs.
Our current cardiac MRI site at St George’s NHS Trust is also an excellent example of shared learning among healthcare professionals. Radiographers are actively training junior doctors to operate MRI equipment, while doctors share their knowledge of cardiac pathology with the radiography team. This exchange of expertise helps both teams understand the challenges and intricacies of each other’s roles, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.
To enhance our cardiac MRI capabilities, Compleo Health has invested in a specialised licence from Siemens. This allows us to perform more precise imaging for patients with cardiac devices, improving diagnostic quality.
Dr Kristopher Knott, consultant cardiologist at St George’s Hospital, said: “At St George’s, the integration of specialised cardiac MRI services is crucial for enhancing patient care. Scanning patients with cardiac devices allows us to provide comprehensive diagnostics for a wider range of patients, ensuring that even those with complex cardiac conditions receive the quality care they deserve. Through our partnership with Compleo Health, we have been able to implement cutting-edge techniques using the latest imaging sequences, while also training the next generation of cardiac imagers.”
Compleo Health’s dedication to flexibility and collaboration is what sets us apart. Whether working with NHS Trusts or private providers, we are committed to being a reliable partner, delivering high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic imaging that meets the specific requirements of each client.
