Cork’s PETCT will focus on cancer management

At Cork University Hospital’s PETCT centre are radiographer Peter Murphy, consultant PETCT radiologist Dr Kevin O’Regan, care assistant Aisling Ward and operational manager Yvonne Davidson.
A long-awaited PETCT service commenced operations at Cork University Hospital (CUH) in May, fully managed and operated by Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging, in an agreed policy with the hospital.
The facility consists of the PETCT scanner and control room, isotope lab, and six patient uptake rooms with associated patient support. PETCT protocols have been agreed with trained consultant radiologists and are based on international best practice.
