Coventry and Warwickshire trust boosts breast screening with four inspirational systems

News

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) has received four Mammomat Inspiration systems from Siemens Healthineers, comprising three mobile scanners for breast screening and one static system at George Eliot Hospital.  The Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry Breast Screening Service invites around 55,000 women for screening each year.  The addition of four units to the trust brings access to some of the latest technology from Siemens Healthineers with additions such as Prime technology and HD tomosynthesis.

Siemens Healthineers x-ray products business manager Joanne Barry said: “The trust takes patient care and comfort very seriously and the Mammomat Inspirations fit well with its mission of providing the most comfortable experience possible to patients.  A number of features including OpComp, MoodLight and Prime dose reducing technology will allow easier positioning of patients and offer greater comfort, in addition to advanced screening techniques and personalised exposure.”

The installation of the Mammomat Inspiration is part of an ongoing effort by the trust to offer patients access to technology that promotes optimal standards of breast cancer diagnosis and care.  Prime offers up to 30 per cent dose reduction and uncompromised image clarity with high definition tomosynthesis to increase diagnostic certainty.
