Craigavon Area Hospital in Northern Ireland has installed a Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Mammography package with C-View software and Affirm tomo biopsy module.  It joins an existing Hologic mammography unit and a Hologic Prone Table.

This dedicated breast department deals with assessment from two mobile breast screening units, symptomatic fast track clinics, and family history and review clinics.

Breast superintendent radiographer Margaret Holland said: “Since the tomo biopsy module was installed, the use of the Prone Table has reduced.  However some examinations are still better carried out on this unit and having both provides  us with  excellent flexibility.  We are fortunate that we can access all areas of the breast with the equipment we have.  The new Affirm module allows us to do vacuum assisted biopsies, tomo biopsies and wire localisation all in the one room.”
