CT scanner’s metal artefact reduction and low doses impress

Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, has acquired a Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT scanner so that it can offer the latest cutting-edge technology to its patients.

Lead CT radiographer Hayley Corkin said: “We have been impressed with the Aquilion Prime CT scanner, particularly the AIDR 3D technology, SEMAR metal artefact reduction and low radiation doses.  Patients have commented how clean and futuristic the scanner looks.

“The support from the Toshiba engineers and applications  team has been excellent and the whole installation process ran exactly to plan.”
