Curved interior reduces patient refusals

With MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford Steve Brine, lying on the couch, are consultant radiologist Dr Julian Elford, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chairman Elizabeth Padmore, Philips Healthcare general manager south Ian Graves, MRI/CT lead radiographer Steve Ross, Philips account manager Gary Bailey and radiology clinical services manager Christine Saunders.

Royal Hampshire County Hospital has acquired a Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI scanner as part of a package in which Philips designed the scanning suite and supplied an ambient lighting system.

MRI/CT lead radiographer Steve Ross said:  “The staff gain a lot of professional satisfaction from producing high quality images within sensible time frames.  The SmartSelect coil system automatically selects the relevant coils loaded on the table, right down to the individual cells needed to get the best SNR for each scan.  Coupled with the digital broadband, we have managed to reduce patient scan times considerably.”
