Davies Veterinary Specialists has been named Natural Environment Champion at this year’s Investors in the Environment (iiE) awards, an accreditation scheme designed to help organisations save money and reduce their impact on the environment.
The award was made in recognition of Davies’ commitment to a range of local biodiversity projects including a wildlife camera trap, bee-friendly planting, the building of bug hotels, installation of a barn owl box, a DIY for wildlife project, wildlife and habitat surveys and a community litter pick. “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award,” said green group manager Rachel Evans. “Biodiversity is a vital aspect of our sustainability journey, and we are already working on some new projects to make an even greater impact on supporting our world in sustainable ways. This important award has inspired us all to try even harder to help our natural environment.”
The small animal referral practice, which is part of the Linnaeus Group, won the iiE Sustainability Influencer Business of the Year in 2020, while member of staff Ellie West was recognised as Sustainability Influencer Individual of the Year. Davies holds green level accreditation from iiE, which is the highest level awarded.
