Decontamination experts will clarify reprocessing guidelines at study day

Some of the UK’s leading decontamination experts will be presenting at a free study day in May organised by Nanosonics.

The study day will aim to clarify current reprocessing guidelines for ultrasound probes, as well as examining studies and evidence outlining why probes require high level disinfection to protect staff and patients from infection.  It will also enable attendees to identify appropriate decontamination methods and responsibilities.

Independent experts from the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, decontamination lead Claire Jones-Manning and clinical lead infection prevention Elizabeth Collins, will be giving presentations. In addition, authorising engineer decontamination Wayne Spencer from Spencer Nickson and speakers from radiology and imaging will be providing insight and views.

The Decontamination of Ultrasound Probes Study Day will take place at the Ardencote resort and spa in Warwick.  Attendees can earn four CPD points in accordance with The Royal College of Radiologists CPD Scheme.
