Presenting Denise Van Outen with a cheque on behalf of Breast Cancer Care are radiology manager Marie Helps, hospital director David McNair and deputy radiology manager Julie Rees.

In her role as ambassador for Breast Cancer Care charity, Denise Van Outen officially opened the digital mammography suite at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital.

Before cutting the ribbon, she talked about how she had lost her grandmother to breast cancer a few years ago and the importance of empowering women to come forward for a scan.

The installation of a Hologic Selenia Dimensions FFDM system was reported in the March 2013 issue of RAD Magazine.  The system is expected to allow enhanced early detection of breast pathology/tissue changes, increase the capability of picking up micro-calcifications, deliver faster examinations and lower dose.
