DensityScan with IBEX turns routine x-rays into an opportunity to diagnose osteoporosis

Agfa Radiology Solutions and IBEX have collaborated to integrate IBEX Bone Health (BH) into DensityScan. The solution aims to improve osteoporosis case findings by automatically identifying patients at heightened risk, from every compatible routine x-ray.
“At IBEX we firmly believe that awareness is the first step to change. Improving screening services will empower patients to take control of their own bone health and raise the profile of the disease among clinicians,” said ceo of IBEX Dr Paul Scott.
“We are excited to be powering Agfa’s DensityScan and share a common vision to raise awareness of the disease, hopefully before a patient has suffered their first fracture.”
Agfa Radiology Solutions will introduce DensityScan to support osteoporosis screening at UKIO 2024 at ACC Liverpool in June.
“DensityScan fits into Agfa’s vision to transform radiology by bringing intelligent and definitive answers to patients with x-ray imaging,” said Agfa Radiology Solutions global software marketing and product manager Paul Danini. “Aside from the benefit of improving patients’ quality of life, we are committed to leveraging the low cost and easy access of plain radiography to reduce pressures chronic diseases and a growing elderly population place on healthcare professionals, hospitals and society.”
DensityScan runs IBEX BH in the Agfa Musica workstation to measure the patient aBMD and T-score, and archives a bone health report in the hospital PACS for review by a radiologist, referring doctor or the fracture liaison service.
