Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, has purchased a Philips CX50 portable ultrasound system for its echocardiography service.   Head of department Linda Zacharkiw said: “As we already have Philips ultrasound machines in the department, choosing this one will give us a seamless addition to our echo service.

“This will enable us to respond to urgent and emergency work quickly without interrupting the flow of the department and it will also give us the flexibility of a larger machine in a portable form.”
