DEXIS OP 3D systems automatically adjust dose and enhance dental imaging efficiency

DEXIS OP 3D EX and LX systems, supplied by Wolverson X-Ray, are designed for a more practical, patient-focused approach to cone beam CT imaging, with automatic dose control at the centre of their functionality.
Instead of relying on fixed exposure settings, the systems automatically adjust radiation dose based on the patient and the diagnostic task. “In simple terms, it gives the dose that is needed for the scan without overexposing, while maintaining the image quality clinicians expect,” Wolverson says.
“At Wolverson X-Ray we think that consistency is a key benefit in day-to-day use. Whether the scan is for implant planning, endodontics or oral surgery, the systems produce reliable, high quality images across different clinical situations. This helps reduce variation and gives clinicians more confidence when making decisions based on 3D data.”
In implantology, the detailed imaging supports accurate planning and placement, while in endodontics, it helps highlight complex canal anatomy and hidden pathology that might not be visible in 2D imaging. For oral surgery, it provides the clarity needed for more complex cases where precision matters.
“Faster scans, fewer retakes and a more streamlined process help keep patients moving through efficiently. Over time, that reduction in wasted time and repeat imaging can also help lower running costs,” the company concludes.
