Pictured during a visit following the installation of a Hologic Horizon A DXA scanner supplied by Vertec Scientific to the endocrinology department at The Christie in Manchester are consultant endocrinologist Dr Claire Higham, operations and improvement manager Rachel Mitchell, ward manager Alexis Waterworth, assistant practitioner Sharon Stansfield, The Christie charity legacy officer Laura Hulme and Vertec DXA sales specialist Bill Reid.
The Horizon A DXA system was part funded by The Christie Charitable Fund, an independent charity that raises funds and receives donations for the benefit of patients of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust so that they can be offered access to leading treatments, outstanding care and the opportunity for the best outcomes.
Dr Higham said: “Clinicians welcome the contribution of the Christie charity to advanced equipment like the DXA scanner – it means we can do much more for our patients.”
