Dorset County’s software can switch rapidly

Pictured during a post-installation evaluation visit by Hologic to Dorset County Hospital are senior radiographer Aileen Benbow, mammography advanced practitioner Stella Campbell, Hologic breast health sales specialist Stephen Adams, radiology manager Sue Green and senior radiographer Vivien Boyce.
Staff at Dorset County Hospital have declared themselves happy with a Hologic Selenia Dimensions mammography system, installed following a successful charity appeal to raise £460,000 from the local community to provide up-to-date breast imaging equipment. The appeal was chaired by Wendy Nightingale, who had been treated at the hospital for breast cancer.
The Selenia Dimensions system is complemented by an Affirm stereotactic device and dedicated SecurView reporting workstation connected to the hospital’s PACS. It is tomosynthesis-ready, requiring only a fast software change to be able to perform this advanced technique on the various platforms offered by Hologic.
Mammography advanced practitioner Stella Campbell said: “The new machine is very easy to use and gives great images we love it.”
