A bone densitometry team at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) has been recognised by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for its first class service to patients.
The team is made up of a clinical scientist, clinical technologists, assistants, administration and reception staff. It was nominated in the Making an Outstanding Contribution (team) category by Clinical Diagnostics and Therapeutics Clinical Board head of quality, safety and patient experience Sue Bailey.
She said: “The team members efficiently, effectively and competently provide a first class service to patients in Cardiff and Vale. However, it is their kindness, thoughtfulness and their drive to provide the very best patient experience that really makes them stand out.
“This team epitomises the values of this organisation and really are unsung heroes. I have great pleasure in nominating them for this award.”
